The foundation is a commercial foundation that owns the company A. Espersen A/S and the majority shareholder of Beck Pack Systems A/S through the foundation's holding company, INSEPA A/S. A. Espersen A/S is one of the world's leading suppliers of frozen fish products and was founded in 1937. Beck Pack Systems A/S is the world's leading manufacturer of innovative packaging for the storage of frozen fish products and was founded in 1919.
The foundation's commercial purpose includes ownership of A. Espersen A/S via ownership of Insepa A/S and direct or indirect ownership of other subsidiaries engaged in trade, shipping, fishing, production, packaging and other industrial activities in Denmark and abroad, as well as related activities.
The foundation’s distribution purpose is to award grants to support research into and the fight against marine pollution in Danish waters and the food industry, for charitable and humanitarian purposes, and to individuals who have fallen on hard times through no fault of their own, fishermen in need, and charitable causes within fishing organizations in accordance with the foundations charter.
